The Oral Health Event of Tooth Brushing for children which began in Tokyo in1932, is an event aiming to motivate elementary school students to maintain and improve the health of their teeth and mouth and to cultivate health awareness. The Event is conducted every year during Dental Health Week (June 4-10).
The Oral Health Event of Tooth Brushing for children has been held by gathering elementary school students in a large venue such as the Kokugikan (the Sumo stadium in Tokyo) until 2011. A simultaneous live broadcast system through the Internet was introduced in 2008, and the new system enabled us to expand the event to elementary schools all over Japan as well as overseas. The event has evolved into one in which students can participate at their school.
